Preschool Crafts Presidents Day

• Construction paper
• Star cookie cutters
• Paint
• Shallow containers 
• Paint shirts
• Soapy water
• Paper towels

• Pour red, blue and white paint into shallow containers.

• Assemble star cookie cutters and have soapy water and paper towels handy for cleanup.

• Let the children dip the star cookie cutters into the different paints and press it onto the paper.

• Let them create their own design.

• Note: the best cookie cutters are the ones with handles.

• Construction paper
• Red paint
• Small Styrofoam trays or shallow containers
• Crayons

• Pour small amounts of paint into the styrofoam trays or shallow containers.

• Draw a tree using the crayons on their pieces of paper.

• Have the children make red fingerprints on their trees to represent cherries.

• Precut paper or cardboard
• Glue
• Red, white and blue materials:
• Wrapping paper
• Crepe paper
• Star shapes
• Flag stickers

• Precut paper or cardboard flag shapes or a star.

• Make a variety of red, white and blue materials available for the children to use in their collages. Why not try wrapping paper, stripped wrapping paper, crepe paper, star shapes and flag stickers.

• Let the children glue the different materials to the flag shape or star.

• Note: Try and provide the children with a variety of things that have different textures.

• Construction paper
• Twigs
• Red self-sticker dots or small paper circles
• White glue

• Glue one or more twigs onto a piece of construction paper for each child.

• Let the child affix the red self-stick dot "cherries" all over their papers, some as if growing on the twigs and others as if falling off.
